Some people living in houses and apartment complexes in a large area around Baylor University might have gotten a bit of a scare this weekend.
A university representative says bogus notices were placed under door mats and in mail boxes informing people that their properties were being seized so Baylor could construct a new football stadium.
The university assures residents that the notices are false and were not issued by Baylor.
Baylor Police officers spent much of Saturday going through campus area neighborhoods, picking up the bogus notices and assuring residents that the papers were a hoax.
The university said the notices were left at residences from 12th Street to University Parks Drive and Interstate-35 to LaSalle.
Police are looking into who is behind the stunt. They have finished sweeping the area for the false notices, a total of 232 were found.
