Flash flood warnings issued for Central Texas

More Information

• A FLASH FLOOD WATCH means flooding is possible. Be on the alert and move any property to higher ground.

• A FLASH FLOOD WARNING means flooding is being reported or is imminent. You should take necessary precautions, as you may only have seconds.

If you are out on the road during a flooding event you should:

• Avoid running water
• Watch for water over the road
• Drive with care, especially at night
• NEVER go through barricades
• Prepare to move to higher ground

It was another rainy day in Central Texas Thursday.

A flash flood warning is in place for parts of Blanco, Burnet, Caldwell, Comal, Gillespie, Hays, Llano, Travis and Williamson counties.

News 8's meteorologist Burton Fitzsimmons reported of five inches of rain falling in areas under the warning.

There have been several road closures reported in and around New Braunfels.

According to the New Braunfels Police Department, here is a list of current Road Closures in the city of New Braunfels:

• Comal Street at Seele Street
• Comal Street at Sehaco Street

• Live Oak Avenue at Altgelt Lane
• 700 Block of Landa Street
• Wood Road at Mission Street

• 500 Block of N live Oak Avenue
• Wright Avenue at N Business 35
• 400 Fredericksburg Road
• Kuehler Avenue at water treatment plant

Hays County has also closed four low water crossings and they are:

• Wayside Drive at the Blanco River near Bendigo Lane
• County Road 1492 at the Blanco River in the City of Wimberley
• Hidden Valley Road at the Blanco River between Flite Acres Road and Spoke Hollow Road
• Little Arkansas Road at the Blanco River, from Flite Acres road to Fulton Ranch road
