Many local runners might be sleeping in Friday morning following the annual Moonlight Margarita Run.
The event is the largest fundraiser for Austin's The Trail Foundation, with proceeds sustaining the maintenance and improvement of the Lady Bird Lake Hike and Bike Trail.
One of the runners said the trail is a focal point in Austin, and he's happy to support events that benefit it.

"I just love it," Runner Les Sherman said. "I come out here about four or five times a week, and I love the way they keep them [the trails] up, the way they add to them. They improve them every year. It just makes it a more pleasant experience."
Following the race, a moonlight party featured Maudie's," Tex-Mex food, mariachi music and margaritas a-plenty.
