The Killeen Police are investigating a reported sexual assault on a 4-month-old girl.

The incident reportedly took place at the Little Blessings day care at 803 N. 10th St.

Officers responded to Darnall Army Medical Center on Feb. 20, where the mother of the victim took her daughter after noticing unusual bruising.

Doctors at Darnall told an officer that the bruising was consistent with a sexual assault.

There has been an arrest of an employee at the day care, but charges are pending.

The family has hired an attorney, and Child Protective Services is investigating.

Closing the facility is a possibility, but it has not happened yet.

The child’s father flew home from Iraq Tuesday night to be with the family.
