U.S. marshals have caught up with two fugitive suspects from Mexico.
Alfredo Gonzalez-Rodriguez, 29, and Juan Garcia-Rodriguez, 26, were charged with home invasion, rape, and car theft from a Sept. 9 incident in Shreveport, Louisiana.
Police say the victims, a newlywed couple, knew Gonzalez and Garcia because they had been doing roofing work at the apartment complex. Police say they drank together before the couple went back to their apartment.
Later, two men knocked on the couple's door and asked for water. Police say the woman let them in, and the men beat the couple, demanded money, tied the husband up, then raped his wife.
Officials say the two men went on the run. The Lone Star Fugitive Task Force worked with multiple Central Texas agencies and tracked the two men to New Braunfels. Investigators ran surveillance on several hotels and caught up with the suspects Friday afternoon on the Frontage Road of Interstate 35.
They're now in the Comal County Detention Center waiting for extradition back to Louisiana.
