Going green isn't just good business, its big business. In 2008, Bissell and Aladdin established its companies as green companies.
Due to the increase of environment issues among its customers and consumers, both companies now offer products that are environmentally friendly. The products help with the reduction of waste and carbon footprint.
Taking your lunch or coffee to work in a reusable container has always been a green concept. That's something Aladdin could already feel good about.
"Now we're combining that with recycled material and some post consumer recycled material so it's even better for the earth that way," Aladdin representative Rob Harris said.
Aladdin has two new "green" products on store shelves this year. Harris calls it their "clean and clever water bottle," and it's Bisphenol-a or BPA free.
"Also another nice thing about this is the material is a little more durable than traditional polycarbonates. Offers BPA free as well as more durable solution," Aladdin representative Ken Mitchell said.
Aladdin's new travel coffee mug is made out of recycled material and when the time comes to pitch it, the mug is recyclable again.
Both the mug and the water bottle are $9.99 each. They cost a little more than most Aladdin mugs because the cost to produce them is higher.
Bissell also has two new green products. The first is the Bissell Steam Mop. It uses just water to clean.
"It's 100 percent natural. There are no chemicals. Its water, its super-heated steam," Bissell representative Carrie Parker said.
The mop pad can also be removed and washed with your regular laundry.
"It uses a shower cap design so when the machine is steaming it keeps all the steam inside instead of coming out of the sides," Parker said.

Bissell's other green product,a spot carpet cleaner, is appropriately named the "Little Green."
"It's almost 95 percent PVC free and it's part of the sustainability design from Bissell," Parker said.
The device's cleaning tool and float system will be made from recycled material when it hits the market.
Both Bissell products use packaging made from 75 percent recycled corrugated cardboard rather than styrofoam.
"The smaller you make the package the smaller you can make the container so your shipping costs, the energy used per product goes down dramatically," Parker said.
Bissell has also made its cleaning solution into concentrated formulas for the same reason. It's just a matter of convincing customers that when it comes to the environment, less is more.
