Some Huston-Tillotson University students had a complaint.
"We're using old workout equipment," Shan Carrier, a sociology major at the university said.
Right now the students are using old donated workout equipment. With a gym more than 50 years old, there's some things the students would like to see changed.
"It's hard, especially when you have so many athletes and you have the baseball team practicing the same time as the track team, so you're sharing the same weights," Carrier said. "You're waiting longer to get onto certain machines."

Although this didn't keep the university's teams from winning games, there are other things they had to deal with that weren't a breeze.
"I was on the basketball team, and and we had done a game and I was about to pass out," Carrier said. "I was like, 'Where's the AC?' and they were like, 'No, all we have is fans.'"
A new facility will be equipped with air conditioning, new workout equipment and an indoor track.
"It is a very big deal," HTU President Larry Earvin said. "It takes us from a facility that was built well over 50 years ago to a state-of-the-art facility that focuses on the needs of an urban institution."
The center will be open to the East Austin community and feature Health and Wellness Services.
Now, the university wants input from the community.
"We know that we are going to go forward with a new building on
campus," Earvin said. "The question is the scope of that building and how much of a community outreach is desired."
Regardless of the shape the project takes, the long-term hope is for facility to help build a stronger, healthier student body and a place of pride within the community.
The university estimates the new facility could cost around $10
million. As it gets closer to the construction time, the
university will initiate some aggressive fundraising campaigns.
Groundbreaking is expected within the next six to 10 months.
