Lightning is believed to be the cause of an early morning two-alarm house fire in the Steiner Ranch area.
It happened at about 6:45 a.m.
The family was home when the fire started and they left the house and waited for the fire department.
When fire crews arrived there were smoke and flames coming out of the home.
More fire crews were called in when fire started coming out of the roof of the house.
The early morning storms kept firefighters on their toes.
"This was actually our second structure fire call. We had another lightning strike over in the Lakeway area about three minutes before this one came in," Lake Travis firefighter Dale Faust said. "That was just an electrical smell, but this one actually when the lightning bolt hit the structure it actually went to work and started the fire."
There were no injuries in the fire.
According to firefighters at the scene, lightning may have started the fire, but the rain helped put it out.
The fire caused $580,000 worth of damage.
