A longtime friend of a convicted killer in the Austin yogurt shop murders of four teenagers acknowledges that he lied to investigators.
Patric Norris Davidson pleaded guilty Monday in federal court in Austin to making false statements to a federal official.
The Austin American-Statesman reports that, under his plea deal, the 38-year-old Austin man will be sentenced to between six and 12 months in prison.
He remains free on bond pending sentencing.
The four teenage girls were killed in the 1991 robbery and arson at an I Can't Believe It's Yogurt shop in North Austin.
Killed were Amy Ayers, 13, Eliza Thomas, 17, and sisters Sarah, 15, and Jennifer Harbison, 17.
Michael James Scott's sentenced to life imprisonment for the crime.
Robert Springsteen IV got the death penalty.
Both are appealing.
