His name is Sam Davis, and he's not your typical bell ringer.
He hugs people, high fives children and sings Christmas songs to passing customers of Walgreens in West Lake Hills.
Some have even made special trips to the store just to be greeted by his holiday cheer.
"He's very friendly, he talks to everybody. Kind of cheered up my day every time I came over here a lot extra to see him," Karen Grosskopf said.
Davis set a personal goal of raising $67,000 and said he exceeded that. He worked for five weeks straight up to 10 hours a day and said he can't wait until next season.
"Bell ringing is more than it seems. Everybody sees it for just ringing a bell collecting money. But really we're out here working for God right now. We're collecting money for charity and there's no greater thing than to raise money or donate money to people who desperately need it," Davis said.

Davis’ strong singing voice is balanced by his humble attitude towards collecting money for the Salvation Army.
"A lot of people go 'Oh Sam you do such a wonderful job.’ It's people around here that donate that are wonderful because they have enough compassion and love in their heart to do it," he said.
