Wonderful Wet Weather
It's been a very good end of the week with heavy rain leaving more than 1.50" inches in many sections of the Hill Country. The rain will continue falling along and east of I-35 for the rest of the day. Here are some of the higher rain totals as of 12:00:
3.08" Honey Creek @ Kingsland 3.07" Lake LBJ @ 2900 Bridge 3.05" Blanco 2.75" Willow City 2.63" Dripping Springs 2.45" Pedernales River @ LBJ Ranch 2.37" Llano 1.99" Harper 1.17" Lake Austin/Quinlan Park
I will be updating this list after 2:00.
The cold front has arrived delivering a north wind to send temperatures into the 50s for the rest of the day. The front is working with an upper-air low moving slowly over north Texas to continue showers with isolated thunderstorms for the rest of the afternoon.
The upper low lags behind the front to continue a 30% chance of rain this evening through around 5 or 6 Saturday morning. Lows will be in the upper 40s to low 50s under a light north wind.
The morning overcast will clear as the upper low moves east of Central Texas. Sunshine and a southeast breeze by the afternoon will send highs into the low to middle 60s Saturday afternoon.
Texas entertains Kansas at DKR Texas Memorial Stadium Saturday at 7 pm. It's the final home game of the season and it's Senior Night. Bundle up if you're going as we anticipate a kickoff temperature in the upper 50s, cooling to the low 50s by the fourth quarter. An east-southeast breeze is anticipated.
Sunday's outlook is for sunshine and highs in the low 70s.
Thanksgiving week will be mostly dry and mild. There will be a cold front arriving to provide some rain (a 30% chance) Monday night to Tuesday evening. The Thanksgiving Day forecast, right now, is for a mostly sunny sky with highs in the middle 60s.
Have a good day and a good weekend. Meteorologist Rich Segal
