Less Humid This Weekend
Friday's rain and cloud cover will gradually clear overnight, paving the way for a much brighter and more comfortable holiday weekend. Lows tonight will fall to the upper 60s in Austin with cooler readings expected in surrounding communities.

There may be a few patchy low clouds early on Saturday, but ample sunshine is slated throughout the day. Highs will run at or even slightly below normal, closer to 90-degrees. Sunday should look quite similar.
Rain chances go up again after the Labor Day holiday due to some increased moisture in the Gulf of Mexico. Check out the 8-day forecast for the latest.
In the Tropics...
Hurricane Earl brought tropical storm force winds to the coastal parts of North Carolina. It continues up the East Coast today and is currently a bit weaker, down to a cat 1 hurricane. Tropical storm force winds, perhaps even hurricane winds, are in the forecast for the Cape Cod area tonight.
Tropical Storm Fiona looks more ragged on satellite this morning. We expect the storm to move directly over Bermuda tonight then weaken through early next week.
Tropical Depression Gaston died out last night in the far eastern Atlantic. But a new storm was born in the Pacific: Tropical Depression #10-E. You can see the swirl of this small storm right off the southern tip of Baja, just west of mainland Mexico.
Longhorn Game Day... Texas takes on Rice at Reliant Stadium at 2:30pm Saturday. The roof is scheduled to be closed, so they'll be playing indoors with the A/C set at 72 or so. Outside it will be fairly nice with partly cloudy skies, a 20% rain chance in the AM, and highs in the low 90s to near 90.
