The Zilker Tree Holiday Festival may not be as big as its predecessor the Trail of Lights, but that's not stopping all the fun.
The City of Austin announced Tuesday that Ray Benson and his band Asleep at the Wheel will put on a free concert during the festival this year.
Benson said he's excited about the opportunity and hopes more musicians will volunteer as well.
"There will be a sing-a-long, there'll be stuff for kids, stuff for old folks, stuff for young folks and I'm also putting a call out to all my friends in the Austin and Hill Country area to join in because it will be a big mass sing-a-long," Benson said.
The concert will take place Dec. 21, which is the final night of the Zilker Holiday Festival.
The Trail of Lights was scaled back this year because of economic reasons and so that the City of Austin could continue to provide the festivities at no charge.
