According to Fort Hood officials the leaders of the Pentagon's review board will meet Tuesday afternoon on post to begin the investigation into the factors that lead to the Fort Hood mass shootings on Nov. 5.

Defense Secretary Robert Gates announced the review last week. He met with officials participating in the investigation Monday at the Pentagon.

Officials said the 45-day investigation will help determine what policies and procedures can be put in place to help prevent this type of event from happening again.

Over the past week Fort Hood has activated an online survey where anyone can weigh in on how the military, and Fort Hood, could improve communication in the future, and learn from the tragic events that took place on post Nov. 5.
