The Killeen Police Department charged 17-year-old Robert John Zenhye for bringing a gun to school.

Police said he carried a gun into the Honors Academy Charter School.

According to KPD, a teacher at the school saw the gun in the student's book bag and informed a police officer nearby. The officer then removed the student from class and isolated him from any other students.

After searching the suspect, authorities also found a knife in the bag.

Zenhye has been charged with unlawfully carrying a weapon into a prohibited place, and is being held on a $100,000 bond.
