Fire investigators said an attempt to relight a pilot light caused a deadly explosion in Fredericksburg, Saturday.

Gillespie County Sheriff's deputies and Fredericksburg Police were called to the scene of an explosion around 1:30 Saturday morning.

First responders were told that people were still inside the burning home.

Three people, including two teenagers, were rescued.

Joan Knorr, 74, was found dead.

The three survivors were treated and have been released from Hill Country Memorial Hospital.
