The 13th annual Austin Celtic Festival, themed "Fortune Favors the Merry", will premiere this weekend at Fiesta Gardens.
Festival Director Donnelle McKaskle said that people "can expect two days of incredible fun."
McKaskle said there would be four stages of music, including bands from Ireland, Scotland and Wales, "and, of course, people here in Austin."
McKaskle said that other than Celtic music, the festival will feature five dance troupes, storytelling, sheep herding demonstrations and historical re-enactments of the Viking invasion.
"Celtic culture is just so fun, and the music is wonderful, and there's dancing, and lots of stories and the people are so charming," McKaskle said. "And to have it here in Austin, what more could you wish for except to have a beautiful day?"
The Austin Celtic Festival will held Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. – 8 p.m. at Fiesta Gardens. Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door.
