"We are so excited, it is a two day weekend celebration of books and readers, and we want to get everyone down here. I want to make sure that every one knows that there is something for every one," Heidi Marquez Smith, with the Texas Book Festival, said.
Jeanette Walls is one of the authors participating in the festival. She said this weekend's events aren't just for people who love to read.
"It is not just to celebrate reading with those who love books, but we are hoping we can convert a lot of non-readers into the world of reading," Walls said.
Proceeds from the festival benefit Texas libraries and Reading Rock Stars, an outreach program that works to bring books to life for children in low-income schools.
