The 16th annual Austin Film Festival is underway with many premieres and panels lined up over the next eight days.

Hines kicked off the eight-day event with a premiere of the first film she's ever directed.
"Serious Moonlight" is a dark comedy written by Adrienne Shelly who was murdered in a robbery after making the movie "Waitress."
Shelly's last script lives on in the new film, as Meg Ryan plays a woman who holds her cheating husband hostage until he confesses his love for her.
