A man has been charged with murder following a weekend shooting in Bastrop County.
29-year-old Troy Alden Whiteside is currently being held in the county jail on $150,000.
On Saturday, Bastrop County Sheriff's deputies responded to a 911 call of a man being shot multiple times in the Red Rock area.
When deputies arrived, they discovered EMS personnel treating 23-year-old Chance Ray Smith, who was shot.
Smith was taken to Lakeside Medical Hospital in Bastrop where he died of his injuries.
Deputies took Whiteside into custody at the scene.
Details surrounding the shooting death are still under investigation.
