The runners, walkers, and bikers who routinely use the trails were joined by the people who keep the trails looking good.
The Trail Foundation was out to show people what they do and to ask for the public's help so that they can keep on improving and maintaining the trail and its environment.
"A lot of people think that the city is responsible for a lot of the improvements on the trail, and while we do have a really close relationship with the Austin Parks and Recreation Department, they simply don't have the resources to be able to care for the trail and make it as beautiful as we all want it to be," Theresa Couch, with the Trail Foundation, said. "So that's where the trail foundation comes in and we help do projects to help make the trail a little more beautiful and enhance it for all of the users."
Among other future projects, the Trail Foundation is looking to renovate the north Pfluger bridge circle area. They also want to renovate and enlarge the trailhead near the Roberta Crenshaw Bridge.
