Music lovers paid tribute to the life of a man with strong ties to the Austin music scene Sunday.
Poodie's Picnic took place out in Bee Cave to celebrate the life of Poodie Locke, Willie Nelson's stage manager and friend for more than 35 years. Locke passed away on May 6 at the age of 56.
Nelson's daughters were at the event to remember a loved and constant figure in their family.
"He's family, he's definitely family," musician Amy Nelson said. "He was around when I was four, and I don't know what life is like without Poodie, and I still don't, because he's still around, I can feel him here."

With the big turnout at the sold out show, musician Paula Nelson said she agrees.
"I definitely believe that he's here with us, and it's such a great turnout so early in the day, that I know he's very proud," musician Paula Nelson said. "All the great musicians here today, so many people just flew in from out of town to be here, and we could honor him the right way by waiting a little bit, making it a huge celebration."
Live performances include Joe Ely, Reckless Kelly, Corry Morrow, Billy Joe Shaver, James Hand, Paula Nelson, Folk Uke and The Boxmasters with Billy Bob Thornton.
Things got started around 2 p.m., but the music will last until 11 p.m.
