The third armed robbery in as many weeks at the University of Texas has campus police trying to connect the dots with a pattern emerging.
Part of what makes nabbing an armed robber on the University of Texas campus so difficult is that anyone can enter the campus.
Monday night's incident happened at Taylor Hall and University of Texas chief of police Robert Dahlstrom said the victims of the robber have something in common.
"All three students [victims] have been Asians, a mix of male and females and I don't know the answers to why," he said.
Investigators don't know if they're being targeted or if it's a coincidence, but they do know they can't solve the case without some help.
"The police by themselves aren't going to catch this person. Who's going to catch this person is gonna be a student, faculty or staff or citizen that knows information," he said.
It was unsettling for some. UT senior Michael Roth was shocked to learn that there was a robbery at Taylor Hall. A place he spends a lot of time at.
Others have adopted a more vigilante approach.
"If I see anything, I'll tackle any dude who's being confrontational with Asian people on campus, like, I'm gonna get them, hog tie them and call the police," UT graduate student Noah Benjamin said.

There's no bounty for the robber. But investigators are asking for your help.
Detectives don't have much to work with since the man was wearing a mask and gloves, but they believe he's about 6 feet tall with a medium muscular build.
If you have any information you should contact UT police at (512) 232-9640
