With the huge music and film event, South By Southwest just around the corner, the City of Austin is getting ready to deal with the large crowds.
New this year are the Public Assembly Code Enforcement teams (PACE) teams.
Anytime more than 50 people gather at one place for an event, it's considered a public assembly.
The PACE teams will be in charge of making sure that shows and parties during SXSW have the proper permits.
"There are city ordinances against having a group of people together without the proper permits," Don Smith from the Austin Fire Department said. "You cannot set up a stage inside your mercantile occupancy and have a public assembly nightclub without the proper permits."
Last year, a store on South Congress violated city codes by having a few hundred people inside for an event held during SXSW.
