An Amber Alert was issued Thursday morning for Adrian Jaimes, a 5-year-old boy who was kidnapped from the 11800 block of Shropshire Boulevard in Northeast Austin.
He was found Thursday evening around 8 p.m. and is now safe. No other information is available at this time.
Police said Jaimes was abducted about 7:45 a.m. by four men in their late teens driving a grey Volkswagen Jetta with dark tinted windows. They left eastbound on Shropshire.
According to Austin police, Jaimes was sitting in the back seat of an SUV when a gray Jetta pulled into their driveway and abducted Jaimes from the car. Jaimes' mother and sister were in the front of the car.
Adrian's sister Zuleima Jaimes said she was fighting and screaming during the kidnapping.
Adrian's sister said she recognized two of the men and added that they had followed them home before and said it's a possibility that her family was targeted.
Police said it was not a random kidnapping.
"It was obvious to us that this was not a random kidnapping. There's a reason behind it," Joe Munoz with Austin police said early in the investigation.
