Your drive along portions of MLK Boulevard will be a little tight starting Monday.

Construction will start Monday on the north side of the street, causing one lane of traffic to be cut off on each side of the street.

The goal is to completely reconstruct MLK between Lamar and Pearl Streets and upgrade utilities beneath.

The contractor will be using an accelerated schedule so it doesn't impact traffic too long.

The project will take about 10 months to complete
