An autopsy will be performed to determine what happened to a woman found dead Friday morning at the Lincoln Oaks apartment complex in North Austin.

EMS workers say they found her in the fountain near the pool. Police are not releasing many details.

The homicide unit was called to the scene to help investigate.

"It's undetermined if she was in the pool or out of the pool but because of the nature of the call and uncertainty of the death, it is our protocol to call out homicide to begin an investigation and determine the cause of death with the medical examiner's office," Joe Munoz with the Austin Police Department said.

Many who live at the apartments were on edge to see police cars, because just three months ago there was a double homicide at the apartment complex across the street.

"It's kind of freaky, I live very close to the pool. Kind of scary, I don't really know what's going on," tenant Katie Robinson said.
