The City of Austin has extended boating bans on parts of Lake Austin and Town Lake through noon on Friday.
The Lower Colorado River Authority is continuing flood gate operations through the week, and several areas along the two lakes are off limits.
Water activity is banned on Lake Austin from downstream of Oyster Landing boat docks to Tom Miller Dam.
On Town Lake, the boating ban extends from Tom Miller Dam to Red Bud Trail. All other areas of Town Lake, Lake Austin and the Colorado River are open.
Residents are asked to remember that the closed waterways are dangerous and that no one should get in the water until the bans are lifted.
Those with property along these banned areas should call (512) 329-8841 for more information.
