Austin Police are investigating an officer involved shooting in Southeast Austin.
It happened just before 8:30 p.m. Sunday near Pleasant Valley Road and Quicksilver Lane. Police responded to a 911 caller who heard gunshots.
Police say Reynaldo Loredo Gonzalez tried to run over a group of people with a pickup and then tried to run over police officers. That's when police say two officers fired at the suspect.
"He saw the officers coming toward him and gunned it and tried to run them over. The officers fired to stop the vehicle and the subject was hit. Now he's at Brackenridge hospital with non-life threatening injuries," Asst. APD Chief Leo Enriquez said.

"All we heard was a lot of ladies screaming and then we looked and then we heard pow, pow, pow, there was a lot of guns going off," witness Edward Clay said.
Gonzalez is charged with aggravated assault. Police say they don't know where or how many times Gonzalez was shot. He was sent to Brackenridge Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Another man, Michael Morin, is also charged with aggravated assault. Police say he was involved in the initial incident, that prompted someone to call 911.
The two officers involved in the shooting are on restricted duty, which is standard during an investigation.
