A disturbance at the Oaks Treatment Center in South Austin leaves six people facing charges.
Police say they were called out Sunday morning after some patients became unruly. Police say they were yelling and fighting with each other.
Staff called police and barricaded themselves inside an office.
"They were upset and that's why they took to secure themselves inside an office to make sure they weren't harmed - they felt it was an escalating situation and they did what they felt was right to protect themselves," Detective James Mason said.
That's when SWAT entered the building through a back door. They got the staff members out unharmed and detained 10 people without incident.
Of those, six are charged with unlawful restraint and felony criminal mischief. Four of them are juveniles.
The Oaks Treatment Center is a residential facility providing treatment for adolescents with behavior, emotional and developmental problems.
