The bass player for Los Lonely Boys found himself in legal trouble while visiting Austin for a concert at Stubb’s on Saturday.
Austin police say Joey “JoJo” Sacarais Garza, 26, was arrested in an Austin hotel room for two misdemeanor charges of marijuana possession and family disturbance.
Police say they were called to the Omni Hotel in downtown Austin for a disturbance about 10 a.m. Saturday. There they found Garza and a woman in his hotel room.
Garza was taken to Travis County jail and charged with assault causing bodily injury and possession of less than two ounces of marijuana. He was released about 5 p.m. on a personal bond.
The San Angelo-based band of brothers was visiting Austin to promote their second album, Sacred. Fans who bought the new CD at Waterloo Records were given a free ticket to today’s sound check at Stubb’s, which was cancelled because of Garza’s arrest.
