Christmas is just days away and the Salvation Army still needs donated toys and volunteers.
About 600 needy families will be going to the Salvation Army in South Austin on Wednesday, where each child will receive two toys. However, some tables at their facility at 6510 South Congress are still empty. They need new, unwrapped toys for infants up to 12 year olds. Toys for girls, infants and toddlers are needed most.

The Red Kettle campaign, the Salvation Army’s largest fundraiser, is still short of its $250,000 goal. So far, $160,000 has been raised – and their goal is Christmas. With four days left, the group needs to raise about $22,000 each day.
That’s where they enlisted the help of RunTex. The running store launched Run Hard, Give Easy to inspire people to run over to locations with bell ringers and red kettles.
