Austin Mayor Will Wynn took a flying leap into Town Lake Wednesday evening.
The mayor did it for a scene in a local independent film called Jumping Off Bridges.
Wynn trained with professionals before trying the dangerous jump.
It was an exciting way to showcase Town Lake, he said.

"The water in Town Lake is so much cleaner than it used to be. In fact, we've had triathlons recently in Town Lake so it's great to get use out of the lake and support local independent filmmaking," Wynn said.
The mayor jumped 30 feet from the Pfluger Pedestrian Bridge to the water below.
Jumping into the river is illegal in Austin and also extremely dangerous, the mayor warned.
