Fire destroyed a Lake Travis restaurant famed for the sunset views from its wooden outdoor decks.
Officials say a fire swept through the Oasis around 4:30 a.m. on Wednesday.
Crews from surrounding areas battled flames for hours. The expansive property had more than 40 decks and could seat 2,000 people. It opened in 1982.
Heavy rain overnight kept the fire from spreading to surrounding areas.

Owner Beau Theroit, who lives across the way from the restaurant, said he would open his home for some special events already booked. The Oasis was a popular spot for wedding and group gatherings.
Adjoining venues on the property are salvagable, and Theriot said he hopes to have those open by Friday.
“The state-of-the-art kitchen we put in four years ago is in 90 percent good condition. A couple of the bars are gone, a couple of the dining areas are gone. Quite a few decks are gone. The gift shop is gone, and one pair of restrooms are gone,” Theroit said.
Fire officials investigating whether lightning is to blame for the blaze.
No injuries were reported.
Theriot said he'd like to start rebuilding as early as tomorrow.
