FORT HOOD Fort Hood mourns, death toll 13 Officials confirmed Friday, the death toll has risen to 13, one civilian and 12 soldiers. Authorities said Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan opened fire on a crowd at the Soldier Readiness Preparation Center on post. Scott and White Memorial Hospital in Temple still has 10 patients under their care, six in ICU and four on the "in-patient" floor.
