Adoption resources found in one place
For couples who face infertility, adopting a child is often an alternative, but knowing where to begin can be overwhelming. That's why some local adoption agencies got together for a fair at the Dell Diamond.
Megan and Morgan are two-and-a-half. The Bishers adopted the twins in Russia.
"By the time we completed the plane ride home, there was not an ounce more love we could have given these children. They were ours," mother Bonnie Bisher said.
The Bishers decided to go abroad because the process to become parents was faster. Sunday, other local families got a chance to learn about international adoption.
It was at the Austin International Adoption Fair.
"There are different ways for people to grow their families. Some people choose international adoption, so we just wanted to bring all the resources together today for international adoption to help people get started," Elizabeth Muenzler, with the International Adoption Fair, said.

Families that go abroad aren't just adopting a child, but a heritage. For the Bishers, that means keeping Russian toys around the house and someday, taking the girls to visit Smolensk, their hometown in Russia.
About 40 agencies were at the fair. They represented more than 20 different countries. Organizers said they plan to make the fair an annual event.
