If the price is right, you can soon be the proud owner of one of Capital Metro's famous Dillo buses.

CapMetro officials say the surplus of Dillo trolley buses, which are now out of service, will likely go up for auction in the next few months.

When a bus has reached its useful lifespan, it's no longer suitable for rigorous transit schedules. But since it still has value, CapMetro officials say it's able to auction the trolleys off to the public for further use.

"When we've put vehicles up for auction in the past, there is usually interest from other government agencies as well as private limousine/transit companies and social service agencies," said Adam Shaivitz with CapMetro.

There is no restriction on who can buy the vehicle.
