Laura Hall will be back in court Monday morning, on charges connected to the murder of a University of Texas student.

In 2005, Jennifer Cave's body was found in Colton Pitonyak's apartment in West Campus.

Pitonyak was later found guilty of her murder and sentenced to 55 years in prison.

In 2007, Hall too was convicted of tampering with the evidence and helping Pitonyak cover up the crime.

She was initially sentenced to five years, but an appeals court ruled prosecutors withheld evidence. The court threw out that sentence and granted her a sentencing retrial.

Hall's original five-year sentence was expected to run out as early as this year.

Instead of carrying out another lengthy trial, the two sides hope to reach a settlement agreement.
