RANCHO MIRAGE, Calif. -- Former President Ford is still in the hospital in California, despite earlier expectations he'd be released Thursday.
Ford is receiving more respiratory therapy, using treatment measures not easily done at home, his chief of staff said.
Penny Circle said Ford is "getting out of bed, reading the
newspapers and eating well." He's in a good mood and wants to go home, Circle said.
His condition is not life-threatening, Circle said.
Friday marks six days since the 92-year-old former chief executive was admitted to Eisenhower Medical Center near Palm Springs, with pneumonia.
