The Seaholm Power Plant in Austin is an old electric power plant waiting to be renovated. It might also be the newest Austin hot spot.

According to the Austin Business Journal, the unfinished development has become a setting for exclusive parties, concerts and other events.

The location does not have running water, electricity or restrooms, but it still manages to attract event planners. MTV, Alamo Drafthouse Cinema and Rare Magazine have all used the location for various reasons.

Paramount Pictures has even taken notice of the lonely locale. They leased the building for about six weeks this spring to film the remake of “True Grit.”

ABJ Editor Colin Pope talks more about the plant during News 8 Austin's Business Connection.
