DALLAS - The Dallas Burn has named Colin Clarke as head coach, removing the interim tag he carried the final six games of this past season.
Clarke was an assistant for three years before being promoted. Burn president and general manager Greg Elliott says Clarke was chosen from more than 150 candidates.
Clarke previously coached San Diego and Richmond in the A-League. He holds a British coaching badge and a USSF Class ``A'' coaching license.
His playing career includes 38 games with the Northern Ireland national team. He was a striker in the English Leagues from 1981 to 1993, playing for six teams.
The Burn went five-19-5 last season, costing coach Mike Jeffries his job.
