Just one day after the fatal shootings at Fort Hood, the Killeen High football team returned to the field and posted a 34-27 win over Hendrickson.
Although coach Sam Jones said his team was not directly impacted by the Fort Hood situation, he noted that the Killeen community had come together and his players were representing their hometown.

The Kangaroos represented well. Quarterback Michael Cummings had a pair of touchdown runs, his final score pushing the Killeen lead to 34-15.
Both teams will now advance to the postseason. Hendrickson faces Travis and Killeen opens with LBJ.
