"There was the same buzz in the meeting room yesterday that we had before the OU game," said head coach Mack Brown.

Horns Want Quick Stars vs. Cowboys

Despite rallying from huge deficits the last three road trips to Stillwater, Oklahoma, Texas says they will take a win, but a fast start would be nice also. News 8's Lesley McCaslin has more.

"I'm sure there will be a tremendous amount of excitement for the Texas game," said Cowboys head coach Mike Gundy. "This has got their attention,"

12 years. That's how long it's been since Oklahoma State beat Texas. Despite the numerous games where the Cowboys have come close to a win, they've come up short time and time again.

"I've experienced those games where we've came close and not come away with a W," said Cowboys tight end Cooper Bassett.

"I haven't beat them since I've been here and it's the same for the
guys in there," said Cowboys quarterback Zac Robinson.

"Each time we've played them, we've left something out there on
the field that we could have done differently. Hopefully, this time
we can put it all together, and leave nothing out there," said
Cowboys running back Beau Johnson.

The Cowboys expected a lot out of this season. But a second week loss to Houston took them all but out of the national championship picture. Since then Oklahoma State has reeled off 5 wins in a row by an average of 27 points. Not bad for
a team that's been without their starting running back Kendall
Hunter and their star receiver Dez Bryant.

"That just shows the resiliency of this team. It doesn't matter who falls out, or who's going to miss a game. We have people that will step up and make plays," said Bassett.

"We don't know who they're going to have in the game, but
they've been winning without those guys.," said Longhorns linebacker Roddrick Muckelroy.

Starting slow has consistently been Texas' downfall in this game, but coming off a 35 point 1st half performance against Missouri. The Horns hope slow starts are a thing of the past.

"It's been a trend we have to break. This time we go up there, we're going to start the game off different. We're a different team.

It's a new season. It's a new year," said defensive tackle Lamarr
Houston.
