Ty Wilson lost his leg in a motorcycle accident nearly two years ago. But his determination and will for life pushed him to do things he'd never done before.
"I started riding a bike right away, I was actually better at riding a bike then I was at walking. I remember my prosthestist told me not to do it, and I showed up at my next appointment on my bicycle."
His determination is obvious. Not only has Wilson run a half marathon, he also finished a 100 mile bicycle race.
"I almost started crying I almost really did. Plus people, they're just like, man, good job. I hear that all the time. That helps a lot, that motivates me, and I think it motivates them at the same time."

But Ty's new life reaches beyond the hike and bike trail. It's allowed him to be a peer counselor for others who share his disability.
"Someone with two legs can tell someone who's an amputee they're gonna be fine all they want, but when someone like me goes in there, it's just a little different."
His accident may have injured him on the outside, but it made him stronger everywhere else.
"I just look at life a lot differently. I'm hoping that maybe anybody, whether disabled or not, would motivate them a little better. If it gets one person to get up and do something they're scared of, it's worth it."
Ty Wilson's next goal is to compete in a marathon. He's already started training.
