The jury in the Michael Scott capital murder trial worked for 12-and-a-half hours on Saturday without reaching a verdict.
Since hearing closing arguments on Friday jurors have worked 17 hours.
At about 10:30 a.m. the jury requested the tapes and transcripts of Michael Scott’s videotaped interrogation.
The state and defense each prepared their own versions of the transcripts. Both versions, along with a VCR, were sent back to the jury.
The jury later requested a dictionary but that item was not among the 700 exhibits entered into evidence, so the jury was not allowed to have it.
Jurors had their lunch and dinner at the courthouse. They left the courthouse at 9:30 p.m. to the hotel where they are being kept without access to television, radios and telephones.
Representatives from both legal teams, along with families of the accused and victims, stayed at the courthouse throughout the day.
The jury will return on Sunday at 9 a.m. to continue their work.
