Butler Pitch & Putt has been called one of the best by one of the greatest.
"Ben Crenshaw played here as a kid. He played here just a few years ago at a tournament. He's a really nice guy. He put us in his book of the 10 best things in Austin," owner Lee Kinser said.
You don't have to be a PGA legend to love these links. In fact, their best customers are beginners.
The game of golf normally prides itself on strict standards, but it's the lack of them driving golfers to this nine-hole course.
"I'd look ridiculous if I were to show up at a regular golf course," Mark Charbonneau said.
Charbonneau likes to stop by after work.
"It's laid back. I'm wearing flip-flops, V-neck white shirt, having a good time. It's really laid back and it only takes about an hour, 1:15 minutes to play," Charbonneau said.
No golf shoes or golf attire are required. There are cheap green fees and you can carry your own cooler.
"You can't get no better than this, out here in the environment like this. You can't get any better. Playing with your friends you can have a beer or two. It's really enjoyable," Richard Blake said.

And for every hole-in-one, your name goes on the Wall of Fame. A tradition dating back to 1950.
"It's a good place to learn and you can learn the rules and the etiquette and you don't have to feel any pressure. We have lots of people that play here for years and years and years," Kinser said.
"It's real quiet, you can take your time," Jim Walter said. It's the family time that brings Jim Walter out with his 12-year-old son.
But he wants this best kept secret to stay that way.
"Don't tell anybody, OK? Because I don't want it to be too crowded. If too many people find out about it, then they'll come. So don't tell them about it. OK?" Walter said.
