If you're one of the 59 million people suffering from foot pain, finding the right kind of shoe can be nearly impossible.
Just ask Yvonne Graham, a former world-class runner and silver medalist Olympian.
She no longer runs competitively. Now she owns a nutrition store and spends hours on her feet.
"It's a lot of strain on your body. Anyone who works retail knows what I'm talking about," she said.
She traded in her running shoes for a new kind of pain relief footwear called Z-coils.
"Believe me, when I first saw the shoes I said 'Oh my goodness, I'm not going to wear those ugly shoes.' But the minute you put them on they become very pretty to you."
At first glance they look like typical running shoes until you see the heel.
"I guess what makes these shoes most unusual is the spring suspension system on the back end. That will cushion over 50 percent of the impact to take with every heel strike," a spokesperson said.

Z-coil shoes may be funny looking, but are super comfortable.

The shoes not only reduce the impact on your entire body, they also force you to have better posture.
"As you change that posture you avoid compressing the joints in the back as well as the nice, little nerves," a doctor said.
The shoes have built-in orthotics which cradle your foot's curve.
"So, unlike regular shoes that you can bend right in the middle, I can't do that. So, your ligaments underneath your feet are supported," a spokesperson said.
Instead of replacing the shoe if it gets worn down, the heel can be popped out and replaced.
Graham said standing long hours aren't a problem anymore. And she hopes the shoes help her return to her greatest passion of running.
Z-coil shoes are completely customized for your foot and start at about $140.
