For some 12-year-olds, the idea of going to a museum isn't very riveting.
But for curious Johnathan, everything at the Austin Children's Museum was exciting.
Johnathan is all about having fun, complete with a smile that never leaves his face and an energy that lasts for hours. Along with science, Johnathan said he loves to learn and read about history.
This little gentleman knows he wants to get adopted, and looks forward to the love he'll get from parents. He said if he could pick one thing to tell his new mother, it would be "I love her."
"He knows what permanency means, he knows that his foster family, though they love him, they won't be able to adopt him, so he's very honest and open with me saying that he wants an adoptive family," case worker Holly Benningfield said.
Johnathan wants a forever family that can teach him new things and take him to new places, someone who can take him to children's museums and share with him his favorite food, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.
"He's one of the most loving children I have ever met," Benningfield said. "Because of the loving and giving nature that he exudes, I feel like he would be a good fit in a permanent home."
As much as he needs love, he has so much to give back in return.
"It's very important to find Johnathan a forever home, because he's a child with special needs," One of the things he really needs is a mom and a dad that will commit to him, and care for him and provide for him in the future."
