Only a set of puppets remain, numbered one though nine, each with a piece of the soul from their inventor. It's a bleak scenario haunted by killer creations and nightmarish attacks.
"9" is co-produced by Tim Burton and carries his signature dark vibe.
It's a unique and rare style that's visually mesmerizing at times. The biggest problem of the movie is the under developed plot that gets stuck in no man's land.
The movie is too serious and scary for young children but not deep enough for most adults.
"9" is short movie less than 80 minutes long, with a tight but shallow story where the intense computer generated images are the highlight.
On the News 8 Scale of one to eight, "9" only reached part of its potential with a five.
