Gov. Rick Perry and U.S. Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison will debate on live television.
Both candidates accepted an invitation by KERA for Jan. 14.
KERA and it's other public television partners are planning for a one hour debate, which will be distributed to all TV and radio stations in the state. It will also be streamed live on the web, and be simulcast in Spanish.
The candidates will answer questions from journalists and the audience.
While both candidates accepted the invitation in writing, However, Hutchison said she may have to ask for a different date if the healthcare vote falls on Jan. 14.
