Bonnie Gonzalez
11/11/2008 8:57 AM
By: News 8 Austin Staff

Bonnie is our McLennan County Bureau Chief.

She comes to News 8 from Alexandria, La., where she spent two years working for KLAX-TV. Her most memorable coverage there was of the Jena 6, a story that made international headlines.

Although saddened by leaving her friends in the Bayou State, she is absolutely thrilled to be back home in Texas.

Bonnie grew up in the city of Beaumont and attended college in Houston. She is a cum laude graduate from the University of St. Thomas with a B.A. in communications and a minor in philosophy.

She loves journalism because she gets to meet all kinds of wonderful people.

When she's not working, Bonnie enjoys tending to her two Chihuahua babies Diego and Bianca, fishing and playing her cello.

The City of Austin plans to have the Nueces Bike Boulevard opened by late spring. The boulevard would be a multi-use path where car traffic is discouraged. How do you feel about this?
I think this is a great idea, we need more roads like this
I think it needs more public input
